HVL GIRLS’ VARSITY VICTORIOUS OVER FRANKEL JEWISH ACADEMY

Sophie Dohrer’s 12 points propelled HVL to a 45-20 victory over Frankel Jewish Academy on Tuesday. On the heels of a 25-4 run, the Hawks led 25-9 at the half. HVL cemented their lead in the third quarter, scoring 16 points. Also helping the effort for HVL were Chloe Wellday (8 points, 9 rebounds), Allie Prieskorn (7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Autumn Cramb (6 points, 5 rebounds, 9 steals), Kim Beckerman (6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals), Dana LeFevre(4 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals), and Emily Haines (2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals).  The Hawks finished the game with 51 rebounds (27 offensive / 24 defensive) and 21 steals.

HVL GIRLS’ JUNIOR VARSITY DEFEATS HARPER WOODS

The JV Girls’ opened their season falling into a quick 7-0 hole.  After a couple of adjustments, the Hawks settled into the game before taking control in the second half and earning a 43-30 victory over Harper Woods.  Leading the way for the Hawks JV were Maddie Wellday with 15 points, Anna Vanderveen and Annika VanLoton each had 10 points.
