HVL GIRLS 55 – CLARENCEVILLE 21
Using the strength of a 27-4 over the 2nd and 3rd quarters, the Hawks were able to cruise in their final non-conference tune up before MIAC conference play starts on Friday. The Hawks led 11-7 at the end of the 1st and then put together that tremendous run over the next two quarters to give them a comfortable lead going into the fourth. The Hawks had a balanced offensive stat sheet as all 11 team members scored. Leading the way was Emily Haines with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals. The rest of the Hawks adding to the totals were Kim Beckerman (8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals), Sophie Doehrer (7 points, 8 rebounds), Hannah Wellday (6 points and 4 rebounds), Callie Doehrer, Allie Prieskorn, Chloe Wellday, and Annika Van Loton all had 4 points, Autumn Cramb (3 points and team high 10 rebounds), Dana LeFevre (3 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals), and Anna Vanderveen (2 points and 3 rebounds).

HVL BOYS 42 – CLARENCEVILLE 40
After a back and forth battle all night, the Hawks held on for the two point victory. The first quarter was played to and 11-11 tie. The second quarter saw both teams struggle on offense, but Nick Vanderveen was able to bury a 35 footer at the buzzer to cut the visitor’s lead to 1 at the half. The Hawks came out of the locker room on fire and outscored Clarenceville 15 to 2 in the 3rd quarter to take a 12 point lead going into the fourth. Foul trouble plagued the Hawks the whole fourth quarter and Clarenceville came all the way back and had 3 chances to tie in the closing moments, but couldn’t get a shot to go it and the Hawks earned the victory to improve to 2-3 and on the year. Nick Doletzky led the way with 14 points. Nick Vanderveen also netted double figures with 11. Zach Dest and Jonathan Tosto each added 6 points. Rounding out the Hawks scoring were Zac Ott (3 points) and Logan Schliewe (2 points).
