JV Girls 43 – Plymouth Christian 30
The JV Girls raced out to a 22-10 lead at halftime and kept that lead to the end to earn the victory at Plymouth Christian. Maddie Wellday led the way with 13 points. Annika VanLoton netted 12 points. Anna Vanderveen, Callie Doehrer, and Krissa Sabit all added 6 points apiece.
Plymouth Christian 52 – Varsity Girls 45
A close game throughout saw the Hawks come up on the wrong side of the scoreboard Tuesday night at Plymouth Christian. Tied at 10 after the 1st quarter, PCA used the free throw line to gain a 5 point advantage heading into the half. That same margin stayed the same throughout the 3rd quarter and into the 4th. Late free throws made the final margin seven. Emily Haines led the Hawks with 13 points. Kim Beckerman also had double figures with 11. Sophie Doehrer contributed 8, Autumn Cramb 5, and Dana LeFevre and Chloe Wellday each chipped in 4.
Frankel Jewish Academy 49 – Varsity Boys 47
The roller coaster ride of emotions was in full effect during the boys’ game with Frankel Jewish Academy. The Hawks raced out to an 11-4 lead early before finding themselves behind 15-11 at the end of the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter saw 5 different Hawks score to cut the lead to 24-23 at the half. The 3rd quarter swung back to Frankel Jewish Academy as they took a 39-31 lead into the 4th quarter. Trailing 42-31 the rally started. The Hawks brought it all the way back, and with a 3-pointer by Nick Vanderveen with 8 seconds left the Hawks tied the game at 47. A foul with 3 seconds and the ensuing 2 made free throws sank the Hawks. Nick Vanderveen led three Hawks in double figures with 17. Nick Doletzky had 11 and Zach Dest scored 10 points. Also contributing were Josh Taube with 5 and Logan Schliewe and Jonathan Tosto each had 2.
