Varsity Boys 56 – Washtenaw Christian 42
The roller coaster ride from Tuesday night continued on Thursday, only this time with a different outcome. The Hawks quickly jumped out to a lead at the end of the 1st quarter 11 to 5, but quickly saw that lead go away, going into the locker room tied at 22. The 3rd quarter looked just like the 1st with the Hawks regaining a 6 point lead at the end of three. Instead of going back down in the fourth, the Hawks took off, taking their lead up to 20 at one point. Nick Doletzky paced the Hawks offensively with 25 points. Fellow senior Nick Vanderveen hit 4 3-pointers and finished with 16. Zach Dest locked downed Washtenaw’s top shooter defensively and scored 6 points. Also chipping in were Jonathan Tosto (4 points), Josh Taube (3 points), and Logan Schliewe (2 points)
Washtenaw Christian 43 – Varsity Girls 41
The Hawks were hitting on all cylinders during the 1st quarter, racing out to a 22-6 advantage, but in the end could not come up with a key basket on offense or stop on defense to stop the momentum the home team had going. With the scored tied, Washtenaw Christian hit a shot at the buzzer to defeat the Hawks by two. Dana LeFevre led the Hawks with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Kim Beckerman (8 points, 3 rebounds), Autumb Cramb (8 points, 5 rebounds), Sophie Doehrer (6 points, 10 rebounds), Allie Prieskorn (3 points, 7 rebounds), and Emily Haines (2 points, 7 rebounds) also contributed for the Hawks.
