Inter-City 61 – HVL Varsity 45
The Hawks fell behind early and couldn’t recover Tuesday night, trailing 24 to 10 after the first quarter. The Hawks fell further behind going into the half 39 to 20. The second half saw the Hawks fight back, but were never able to get the deficit under double figures as the Hawks fell 61-45. Cameron Ohlsson led the Hawks with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Jonathan Tosto added 14 points and 9 rebounds. The other Hawk contributors were Josh Taube (5 points, 6 rebounds), Logan Schliewe (4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists), Logan Affholter (4 points), and Logan Kittle (1 point). The Hawks travel to Charyl Stockwell Academy on Friday for another conference game at 6:30 p.m.
Inter-City JV 47 – HVL JV 45
The Hawks could have let the visitor run away with this one after trailing by nine, 16-7, at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw the Hawks hold the opponent to six points while scoring 11 of their own including Andrew Olson hit a half-court buzzer beater to trim the deficit to four going into halftime, 22-18. The guests outscored the Hawks by three in the third to take a seven point lead at the end of the period. The Hawks mounted a comeback in the fourth, pulling within one point, but couldn’t get that last basket when they needed it, falling 47-45. Olson led the Hawks with 18 points, followed by Jack Beeskow with 17 points. Roberto Arce Izaola and Tommy Franka each had 3 points, while Collin Krzeminski added 2 points. The JV will also travel to Charyl Stockwell on Friday with game time scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
