Boys Varsity Basketball · Hawks Come Up Short in District Final

Even though a Hawks boys basketball had not been to a District Final since 2009, the stage was not too big for this team.  Starting 1 Senior, 3 Juniors, and 1 Freshman, the Hawks came out like they had been there before, going toe to toe with a bigger and faster opponent in Plymouth Christian in the first quarter. A well played first quarter by both teams saw the Hawks down 16-15.  Plymouth Christian took control in the second quarter.  Their press forced turnovers that led to easy baskets as the Eagles took a 38 to 20 lead into the half. The Hawks did not give up, outscoring the Eagles by 2 in the 2nd half 29-27, but falling short in the game 65 to 49.  Cameron Ohlsson led the Hawks with 16 points (five three pointers), 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.  Jonathan Tosto had 10 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. Logan Kittle added 8 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals.  Others contributors for the Hawks included: Dima Machovec (6 points), Josh Taube (5 points), and Logan Schliewe (4 points).

Congratulations on a great season Hawks! We look forward to next year!
