Girls Varsity Basketball · Girls Advance to District Final on Friday

The girls’ varsity used a 34-10 run over the middle two quarters to propel them to a 69-26 victory over Universal Learning Academy at HVL on Monday night, and advancing them to the District Final on Friday night. The Hawks racked up 82 rebounds (48 offensive), 22 assists, and 16 steals on the night. Everyone on the Hawks roster contributed in the win. Lilia Kasten led the way with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Sophie Doehrer stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 6 steals. The rest of the contributors were: Kate Beckerman (8 points), Dana LeFevre (7 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, 2 rebounds), Annika Van Loton (6 points, 7 rebounds), Emily Haines (6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists), Autumn Cramb (5 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists), Allie Prieskorn (4 points, 11 rebounds), Chloe Wellday (4 points, 5 rebounds), Lexi Schliewe (3 points, 8 rebounds), Krissa Sabit (2 points, 7 rebounds), and Anna Vanderveen (2 points, 3 assists, 3 steals).

The District Final is Friday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. at HVL against Inter-City Baptist. Admission, as set by the MHSAA, is $6 per person.
