Girls Varsity Softball · Softball Shuts Out Novi Christian in Season Opener

Emily Haines threw a shutout to lead HVL past Novi Christian 15-0 on Tuesday. HVL scored 6 runs on 3 doubles, 4 walks, and 3 errors in the 2nd inning to take control. The Hawks tacked on three more in the 3rd inning and notched six runs in the fourth inning. Dana LeFevre, Annika VanLoton, Emily Haines, Sohpie Doehrer, and Chloe Wellday each drove in runs during the inning. Haines was the winning pitcher.  She lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero.  Other  contributors for the Hawk included: Dana LeFevre (2 runs, 1 RBI), Emily Haines (2 hits, 5 RBI’s), Annika VanLoton (2 hits, 2 RBI’s, 2 runs), Hannah Wellday (1 run, 3 walks, 2 SB), Sophie Doehrer (1 run, 2 walks), Chloe Wellday (1 hit, 3 runs, 3 RBI’s, 2 walks), Lexi Schliewe (1 walk, 2 runs), Lilia Kasten (2 walks, 3 runs), and Hannah Foley (1 run).

The Hawks take on Whitmore Lake tomorrow, Thursday April 4 at HVL in a doubleheader.  First game is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. with the 2nd game scheduled to start soon after the first game ends.
