Jonathan Tosto collected four hits in four at bats, as baseball defeated Roeper 8-1 on Thursday. Tosto singled in the first, doubled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and singled in the sixth. The Hawks opened up scoring in the first inning when Cameron Ohlsson singled driving in a pair of runs. Leading 4 to 1 in the bottom of the sixth, the Hawks put up four runs to put the game out of reach. The big inning was thanks to singles by Logan Kittle and Tosto, a groundout by Josh Taube, and an error on a ball put in play by Dima Machovec. Zac Ott stiffled the Roeper batters all afternoon. He pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits and one run while striking out nine and walking one. The Hawks improved to 4-5 (3-1 in conference).
