The Huron Valley Lutheran Cross Country team had their first meet on Saturday at the Concordia Cardinal Invitational. Freshman Erika Van Loton took first place, setting a course record for the girls with a time of 21:44 Erika outran her next competitor by 1 minute and 52 seconds. Other top ten finishers included Freshman Natalie Malczyk took 6th place with a time of 24:24, and Sophomore Naomi Foley took 9th place with a time of 24:56. Senior Jackie Last and Junior Julie Evans rounded out their team score for a 3rd place finish.
On the boys side, Freshmen Jakob Oetzel took 21st place with a time of 23:29.
The Cross Country team competes again on Saturday, September 7th at the Rambling Rock Invitational at Willow MetroPark in New Boston, Michigan.
